 After taking the Premier League by storm earlier this season, it seems like Manchester City are running out of steam this past month and the defeat against Sunderland did not help their morale as well.
Liverpool on the other hand are beaming with confidence as they have won 3 of their last 5 matches and approaching this game with extra 48 hours rest against Man City who just played against Sunderland on Sunday and have to play again on Tuesday.
Roberto Mancini voiced his dissatisfaction loudly about this fixture, but with the squad depth that he has against other teams in the league, I don't think his complaint is fully justified.
The return of Steven Gerrard surely helped Liverpool's cause and their revival is no coincidence with his presence on and off the pitch to the amusement to Kenny Dalglish, and it seems like his return solved the scoring problems that have plagued Liverpool recently.
Manchester City however, are not free-scoring like they were earlier anymore as other Premier League clubs have tightened up their defense every time they play City, as shown by Sunderland and West Brom in the last week that parking the bus against Man City's Spanish magician and his fellow world class attacking line-ups is the only way to keep City from battering them.
