China has long been highly secretive about its sporting system, so uncovering answers to these questions has not been easy. Among those secrets, it was told that their brutal training has been the debate of many, especially when it involves young children.

The centrepiece of China's sporting system is the fabled National Training Centre, a conglomeration of buildings patrolled by armed guards in a suburb of Beijing near the Temple of Heaven. It is said to house the greatest concentration of sporting talent on the planet.
